Jeffrey Hausfeld, M.D., M.B.A.,  chairman and co-founder of SoPE, will fly in from Maryland to participate in this first meeting.

“SoPE is a great organization that provides entrepreneurial physicians with the contacts and resources they need to take their ideas to the next level,” said Dr. Chang. “I am honored to lead this chapter, and I feel that we will accomplish great things together.”

“Working together with The Innovation Institute and local chapter members will help us achieve our vision to empower physicians and other healthcare/life science professionals to innovate ‘mind-to-market’ solutions, and connect similar forward-thinking individuals,” said Dr. Hausfeld.

“As partners of The Innovation Institute, SoPE members have the opportunity to work with our team of Ph.D.’s, M.D.’s, and commercialization staff to develop and take their ideas to market,” said Larry Stofko, executive vice president of The Innovation Institute and Innovation Lab. “We look forward to working with the local chapters, as well as chapters worldwide.” The SoPE network of physicians can tap into The Innovation Institute through software set up to facilitate the submission and commercialization of ideas.

About SoPE

The Society of Physician Entrepreneurs (SoPE) is a global biomedical and healthcare innovation network with membership open to all healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders. Members include doctors, nurses, dentists, healthcare entrepreneurs, investors, engineers, academics, students, IT professionals and industry representatives.

Their community members share a common focus – working at the crossroads of innovation and commercialization to make a difference in healthcare.
