Innovation Institute Announces Leadership Changes

La Palma, Calif. — The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike McKinnon as the new President and CEO of the Innovation Institute, effective May 1, 2023. McKinnon brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role with approximately 28 years of experience in health care. He is currently a Partner at Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP and has served as the General Counsel of The Innovation Institute since its founding ten years ago. In addition to his background in law, McKinnon has also served in various business development roles in health care.
The Board stated that they are confident that McKinnon is the right person to lead the company going forward and will continue to drive growth and success. They say he is committed to building upon the strong foundation that has been laid and working collaboratively to achieve the long-term goals of the organization.
The current leadership team has announced their intent to retire on May 1st after ten years at the helm. Joe Randolph, current President and CEO, stated on behalf of himself and the team, “We have enjoyed every minute of every day since we first conceived the concept of the Institute and are so grateful to so many for their support over the past ten years. We truly believe that the Innovation Institute will be around for many years and will touch many lives with the ideas that come from the wonderful physicians, nurses, and employees from across the country.”
He added, “We want to thank all of our employees, our colleagues and friends that have supported us over the years, and we also want to thank the Member Health Systems that entrusted us with this opportunity to serve. We look forward to Mike taking the organization to new heights.”
