Healthcare Design & Construction Leaders Honored at St. Joseph Hospital Foundation Innovation & Technology Fundraiser
October 19, 2015 – La Palma, CA — Today, The Innovation Institute announced that Scot Berlinski, president and CEO of Healthcare Design & Construction (HDC) and Janice Ramsay-Gonzales, operations director for HDC were honored with the St. Joseph Hospital, Orange “Spirit of St. Joseph Award” at The Gooding and Immell Families Celebration 2015, focused on raising funds for innovation and technology. The event took place at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa on October 17.

Scot Berlinski
According to award presenter Steve Moreau, president and CEO of St. Joseph Hospital, Scot Berlinski is an ethical, humble man who lives his Catholic faith daily. “He is a builder of dreams, is mission and goal driven, a wonderful leader and has a way that encourages others to participate. While Scot always prefers to work behind the scenes, tonight we are putting him in the spotlight for some well-deserved recognition.”
Berlinski was recognized for his work to improve the hospital and his participation in the hospital Foundation’s Golf, Todos, Heart & Vascular Program, and Presidential Advisory committees. “Wherever one looks, Scot has left a thumb or footprint. His work is more than a job. He is hard-working and aims high but never loses sight of the mission and values of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange,” said Moreau.

Janice Ramsay-Gonzales
Moreau described Janice Ramsay-Gonzales as “strategic, creative, passionate, and dedicated to working hard behind the scenes – and willing to ask others to help and support the hospital. Since 2004, Janice has served in various capacities on their Todos, Celebration, Annual Giving Advisory, Women Services Campaign, and Golf committees, as well as the Foundation board. “An intelligent and astute business woman, Janice is also a volunteer who rolls up her sleeves to get things done. She also introduced fellow colleagues from NAWIC (National Association for Women in Construction) to the hospital,” said Moreau.
The Foundation thanked Janice for her generous personal financial contributions to hospital projects since 1999 in support of the Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, Women’s Services and the Heart and Vascular Program. “She lives her life every single day reflecting the four core values of dignity, justice, service and excellence, and is especially worthy of receiving the Spirit of St. Joseph Award,” added Moreau.
“We couldn’t be prouder of Scot and Janice! They are outstanding leaders who exemplify hard work and integrity,” said Joe Randolph, president and CEO, The Innovation Institute. “On behalf of the entire Innovation Institute family of companies, congratulations!”
During the event, Foundation leadership shared their vision for the future through the announcement of a new comprehensive campaign: Innovating for a Healthier Community and both Berlinski and Ramsay-Gonzales have committed to serve on this campaign committee.
