2020 Values Recognition Awards Recipients

TEAMWORK: Michele Genet
Senior Director, Far West Staffing Services (FWSS)
Michele Genet was nominated by several of her peers and all have praised her for her perseverance and teamwork during very challenging times, especially the loss of a beloved colleague. She has the diplomacy and expertise to create a perfect balance between the needs of FWSS employees and those of FWSS clients, while setting high standards for her team and fully supporting them to ensure the best outcomes.
Michele personally reaches out to employees to ensure they are adapting to their new positions. In complex situations, she examines the facts and listens to all those involved to assess the options before determining an outcome. She interacts with everyone with dignity and respect, bringing out the best in all who work with her.
Michele also wears another hat as project manager for the construction of an $80M medical office building and parking structure in Santa Rosa for Petra. For the project at Providence’s Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, she was tasked with creating a collaborative environment for the design and construction team while effectively managing client expectations, including mitigating issues and minimizing the overall impact to schedule and budget. This involved instilling confidence in ministry leadership and establishing a strong relationship built on trust.
Michele was nominated for teamwork, but her colleagues say she also personifies EXCELLENCE in everything she does and they are thankful to be working with someone as caring and motivational as Michele!!

HONESTY & INTEGRITY: Michael Jubrey
Biomedical Field Service Engineer, MultiMedical Systems (MMS)
Michael Jubrey has been described as someone who will take on any challenge presented to him. At the same time, Michael will voice his opinion if there is something he feels is not right. As an example, when MMS was asked to repair equipment in the Operating Room at a customer site, Michael found that an essential part was no longer functioning to manufacturer’s specifications. He gently informed the client that they would need to replace the entire assembly to ensure patient safety.
Although this put MMS in a tough position, Michael’s honesty and feedback help to ensure an operation of integrity. He can be trusted to take pride in his work ethic and take responsibility for his account as if it were his own business or family. This is why his colleagues say he is a great team member and is praised for his amazing customer service at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital where he has repeatedly been selected for their “Shining Star” award.
When Michael’s wife recently delivered their third child, he was encouraged to take time off to be with his new family member. However, he told his supervisor that he did not want anyone to cover for him and he preferred to work half days to ensure that his customer was taken care of. This is just another example of the type of person Michael is.

EXCELLENCE: Rikki Rudy
Client Engagement Executive at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS) for Innovation Lab
Rikki Rudy joined the Innovation Lab in April of 2019. In a very short time, she has proven to be a tremendous asset to the Innovation Lab. She has helped to get EDG companies including TKA introduced to FMOLHS, setting the stage for future EDG engagements. She also coordinated a successful Venture 101 workshop where our LRVHealth Growth Fund team got to engage with a room full of FMOLHS residents and physician leaders.
Rikki was instrumental in securing the order of the first five Innovation Lab Imagination Wagons for pediatric patients from the FMOLHS Foundation. These wagons were delivered to the new children’s hospital in Baton Rouge in December. In addition, Rikki facilitated critical orders of our HealthBox, an FDA-approved take-home kit for patients following hospital discharge.
She has worked with licensees, inventors, and key purchasing agents at the individual hospitals to ensure proper connections were made, and that the Lab was apprised of all activities. Through her relationships with FMOLHS leadership, Rikki coordinated a meeting with the new executive leadership team at FMOLHS and has continued to cultivate critical relationships throughout the system. Rikki has taken ownership of her Innovation Lab role with tenacity and a keen understanding of the culture at FMOLHS. We appreciate all that she has done and continues to do in a spirit of excellence.
